Our Story
In 1965, Richard Healey Removals Ltd was founded by Richard Healey Senior, a painter and decorator who was travelling across the UK when he was asked to transport items along his route. This simple request quickly became a popular service, and Richard recognised an opportunity to expand. From this, Richard Healey Removals was born, specialising in reliable and efficient removals.
As the business grew, Richard’s son, Richard Healey Junior, joined the company at a young age, working his way through the ranks. Today, he serves as an active director, still involved in the day-to-day operations and even driving the company’s HGV vehicles. Richard’s dedication to quality service and customer satisfaction has helped the business become a trusted name in the moving and storage industry.
In the 1990s, Georgina, Richard Junior's sister, also joined the family business. She plays a key role as the company’s main surveyor, working closely with clients to ensure their individual needs are met. Georgina's hands-on approach and personal touch are a vital part of the service, creating lasting relationships with clients and making their moving experience smoother and more enjoyable. Like her brother, Georgina is an active director and continues to contribute her expertise to the company’s growth.
Also joining in the 1990s was Barry Howitt, who began with Richard Healey Removals as a porter and has since worked his way up to become the company’s Operations Manager. Barry plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of services. His extensive experience and dedication to high standards have been key to the company’s success.

I would highly recommend Richard Healey Removals for your move. From start to finish nothing was too much trouble. We used the packing service to allow us more time to enjoy our last few weeks in Pittenweem with our friends without the worry and hassle of packing ourselves. Chris and his team did an amazing job. We had an amazing experience with Richard Healey Removals when moving from England to Scotland. Our move date was at risk of being delayed yet RHR were willing to be flexible which took a big weight off of the move stress. All was fine in the end and the guys turned up on the day, somehow managed to load everything up within the day and be on their way. The other end, we had delays receiving the keys and yet again RHR stayed flexible and said they'd ensure they could get our stuff in by the end of the day. As we are local to their base, they were able to call in some more hands to help offload. It was an incredible display of teamwork. Absolutely flawless from Richard Healey Removals, thank you so much for all you did.

Richard Healey Removals were excellent from start to finish. The lady who did the survey explained everything clearly and all went smoothly on the day. The 3 removal men (Brody, Matthew and Aiden) couldn’t have been better, really worked hard and kept their sense of humour. Definitely recommend.

This afternoon i got the pleasure of being behind a richard healy lorry, upon first glance i was apprehensive, unsure what to expect, however the driver was marvellous. The lights on the back go all the way around, ensuring other drivers know where their lorry is going. This is life changing technology. If i ever need a removal or storage, i know where to look. Very impressed.

Great service moving the contents of our 4 bedroom house from Scotland to Wales recently. From the initial quotation, putting our minds at ease , to the collection, packing of large items, the TV, paintings and mirrors, furniture and loads of boxes...to the delivery, everything was seamless and efficient.
